January 2, 2018 Buenos Aires.
Today we decided to explore Palermo, around Plaza Serrano area. This place only comes alive at lunch time (which means 1.30 or 2pm here in Buenos Aires) and offers a vibrant night life.
There are apparently two parts of Palermo, the Plaza Serrano area (unofficially called Palermo Soho) and the Palermo Hollywood area which I didn’t visit.
Within three blocks around Plaza Serrano are tree-lined cobblestone streets where new businesses continue to spring up in the old Spanish-style houses and converted warehouses. It has an edgy vibes, attracting both hipsters and hippies. There are trendy fashion shops and boutique hotels, cool designer bicycle shop, ethnic restaurants (we had shwarma for lunch) and mainstream brands like Kiehl’s and New Balance.
The highlight for us is the discovery of Libros del Pasaje (means Books Passage in English) the charming bookstore with a cute cafe at the back.
